Hello guys!
Today we are dealing with reflexive verbs. We use it when syntactically we are the subject and the object of the act or verb concerned, we have to use the reflexive pronouns depending on what person we are talking about. Here we have the list of reflexive pronouns, which are made up by the personal pronoun and the suffix –self.
I: Myself -> I can do it by myself *Do not confuse with "me"
You: Yourself -> Don’t burn yorself!
He or She: Himself/Herself -> She hurt herself
It:
Itself -> The dog bite itself
We: Ourselves -> It was painted by ourselves
You: Yourselves -> Did you cut it by yourselves?
They: Themselves -> they were speaking to themselves.
The main verbs which make use of this rules are below in a list which may help you in the process of learning how to use these reflexive verbs:
Cut, dry, enjoy, hurt, introduce, kill, prepare and teach
Another important thing to point out is that we use verbs such us dress and wash in order to show emphasis of the action.
